Visit to Rajghat and Gandhi Smriti

The 8th grade students had the opportunity to go to Rajghat and Gandhi Smriti. Rajghat was an ideal memorial site for the great Mahatma. The memorial which contains his ashes is covered with flower petals and is surrounded by lush green lawns. We read letters written by Gandhi to various people including his wife and other important personalities.
Gandhi Smriti was an exciting and different experience. The interactive section had amazing technology which left us all baffled about how they worked. We were able to see where Gandhi walked his last steps. There was an interesting doll collection of which each scene showed a major event in Gandhi’s life. This visit was an enlightening experience which taught us a lot more than what books ever could.
