Our Visitors from Grace Church

MONDAY 24th MARCH, 2014

Sunday was a day well spent. We were re-united with our contemporaries after an entire year! And as Monday arrived, we were especially excited to showcase the qualities and ideals of our school.
Monday morning began with introductions and instructions. The first activity on our agenda was a tour of the entire school; an insight into our educational institution for the Grace Church students. After eating a quick breakfast and experiencing an academic lesson, so unlike theirs, the exchange students attended a Physical Education session with the 12th Graders and later an entertaining ‘Tie and Dye’ activity. The students from both schools bonded over lunch in the Biology lab and then the visitors had an invigorating Indian Classical Dance lesson at the end of the day. To give them a taste of the charm of Indian culture, the students were taken to Dilli Haat after school and were introduced to the world of bargaining, handicrafts and roadside food.
“We do some of the activities back home but it’s amazing to see how differently they are done here on the other side of the world” – Tatnel

TUESDAY 25TH MARCH, 2014

On Tuesday the students of Grace Church left early morning for Deepalaya School, which is an NGO for rural children’s education improvement. It was an exasperating journey to Deepalaya but the students felt it was worth it. They connected with the children at the school with ease and their moving stories brought tears to their eyes. The students came back to school at 6:30pm exhausted but enthralled.
