Industrial Visit to Hero Motocorp, Gurgaon

An industrial visit to the Hero Motocorp Gurgaon plant was organized for Class 12 Business Studies and Accountancy students on 11th February, 2020. The group was received by Mr. Arun Sivasubrahmaniyan, Head - Business Excellence, who conducted an informative session familiarising the students with the growth trajectory of Hero from starting as a local cycle manufacturer in 1956 to becoming the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world today. Following this orientation, the students were taken on a guided tour of the manufacturing plant and shown the various divisions, such as machining, tooling, engine assembly, shaft assembly, etc. The students could observe first hand how parts were circulated through advanced conveyors, from various divisions to the final assembly lines, enabling the assembly of a two wheeler within 18 seconds. It was an exciting and enriching experience as the students got an opportunity to witness several management concepts and principles being applied in real business situations, thereby gaining valuable practical insights into Business management as a subject.
