Talk by a Pilot for Class 1
7th, 8th and 9th September, 2020

A talk by a pilot was organised on 7th, 8th and 10th September for the children of Class 1 to help them clearly understand the concept of air transport . Over six sessions with each session comprising of 15 children, Capt.Rishal Singh, rated on the Airbus A320 as a First Officer took the children on a virtual tour of the cockpit. He explained the function of each button and it's importance. Minute details such as where pilots keep their phones, why both the pilots are served different meals, which buttons are used during emergency and the famous black box were all shown and the details of each was highlighted by him. He also spoke about the importance/ functions of various parts of an aeroplane and the placement of safety equipment like parachutes in an aircraft. There were innumerable probing questions from the children and he patiently answered each one of them. It was a very insightful talk for the children and it kept them actively engaged right through the session.
