Speakers' Forum 2021
Friday, 29th January, 2021

The Vasant Valley School Speakers' Forum, 2021 was, as ever, an amazing display of talent, skills and confidence. As soon as the activities began, on the 29th of January, 2021, it was clear that the orators wouldn't let computer screens deter them.

The Slam Poetry competition (classes 8-9) delivered on dramatic and impassioned renditions of eloquent poems on the topic 'The Cold Gaze of the Camera", while the audience of the Oral
Interpretation Competition (classes 6-7) was treated to expressive and engaging recitations of renowned poems. The participants of the Tall Tale event (class 8-9) wove fascinating yarns, and the versatile Turncoat speakers proved their talent with relevant and powerful points For and Against the same topic.

The non-competitive Book Discussions for classes 6-7 and 8-9, were riveting, with interactive in-depth conversations and unique insights into the books 'El Deafo' by Cece Bell and 'Good Omens' by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

Overall, the sheer talent of each participant astounded the audience. Although conducted virtually—the technological organisation was impeccable, and the Speakers' Forum still gave everyone a space to showcase their aptitude and passion. With all-round oratory prowess and great technological planning, what could go wrong?
