Psynergy 2013,
27th of February 2013
Psynergy 2013, a seminar for Psychology, Business Studies, Accounts and Economics teachers of Delhi schools was held in our school on the 27th of February 2013. It was attended by about 40 teachers of various schools and 60 children of class 12. The two speakers, Mr. Naveen Jindal and Mr. Pavan Varma had an interactive session, the theme “Nurturing better children for a better future.”
Mr. Naveen Jindal, Member of Parliament and an industrialist, stressed on the holistic development of children especially during childhood. He spoke about the teachings of the ‘Vedantha’ and ‘Swadharm’, motivating us to follow our passions. He recognised the importance of teachers in shaping the personalities, values and also behaving as role models to nurture better children. Encouraging us to behave as a collective family, he instilled in us pride for our nation through the national flag. Mr. Jindal believed that national good is more important than individual good and that we must not sit back and let the world function like it is functioning and we need to get up and take action.
Mr. Pavan Varma bureaucrat, writer and now chief advisor to Mr. Nitish Kumar, addressed five key areas where we need to pay attention in order to form a better India- Functioning of Democracy, Governance, National Security, Inclusive Society and Corruption. He emphasized on the importance of announcing coalitions before elections in its past, was one that stood out for most of us. He emphasized on dismantling- dynastic succession, criminalization of politics, sycophancy, etc. Mr. Varma’s interaction with the students and teachers in a question-answer session enlightened us and, in his words, helped us “’engage in ideas’’ of removing of the ‘’beej of corruption.’’
All in all, the two sessions left us motivated to make a change and shape a better future for the country we live in.
