Feeding

Occasionally there can be feeding concerns with young children with special needs. Many of these concerns can be addressed through therapy with a Speech Therapist or an Occupational or Physio Therapist. There are different treatments for various types of dysphagia, including muscle exercises to strengthen weak facial muscles or to improve coordination.
• Therapy for the optimal functioning of the oral- musculature and to improve coordination and processing.
• Training in use of adapted feeding implements.
