Reflections on childhood |
||||||
I remember as I look back Memories of the day Are still fresh Within me It was the day When god gave you To me Tiny limbs And an even smaller face That crinkled up in rage If you were not fed in time As condensed tear droplets Rolled down your lush cheeks My heart It ached Gradually as you grew Out of your Nappies and diapers Graduating to Pretty frocks and clips You make me proud I looked at you With awe As you made |
Your first steps Your first words of wisdom Then as time moved You moved on with it Your first tooth As it grew Out of your soft pink gums Just yesterday you painted Your first landscape And now you sit perplexed Solving and sorting Numbers and sentences Your piggy tails have now Grown into braids As your trousers tend to shorten I no more have to bow to converse I look into your eyes And I can see them sparkle A fine young girl I have won the battle Of motherhood And love You indeed make me proud! |

THINGS TO DO IN AN ELEVATOR |
||||||
1) Crack open your briefcase or handbag, peer inside and ask "Got enough air in there?" 2) Say ding at each floor. 3) Say, "I wonder what all these do?" And push all the red buttons. 4) Stare at another passenger for a while. Then announce in horror: "You're one of them" - and back away slowly. 5) Try to make personal calls on the emergency phone. 6) Draw a little square on the floor with |
chalk and announce to the other passengers: "This is my personal space." 7) When there's only one other person in the elevator, tap them on the shoulder, and then pretend it wasn't you. 8) Drop a pen and wail until someone reaches to help pick it up, then scream: "That's mine!" 9) Call out "Group hug" then enforce it. 10) Push the buttons and pretend they give you a shock. Smile, and go back for more. 11) MEOW occasionally. |
