LESSONS FOR LIVING |
WORLDsport |
Patience and timing… everything comes when it must come. A life cannot be rushed, cannot be worked on a schedule, as so many people want it to be. We must accept what comes to us at a given time and not ask for more. We just pass through phases. Time is not as we see it, rather is exists in lessons that we have learnt. Destiny is what a person has always wanted to accomplish. And when someone wants something that badly, the entire universe conspires in helping you achieve it. Have confidence and believe in you're destiny. One must eradicate fears from our mind. It is a waste of energy to fear. It stifles people from fulfilling what they were sent here for: their destiny. It is only on the surface that the troubles lie. Deep within their soul and subconscious mind, where the ideas are created, is where they must reach to find eternal peace. Every man's heart is afraid of suffering. But it is the fear of suffering which is worse than the suffering itself. Every encounter the heart has in search of its destiny is an encounter with God and eternity. Life is like a diamond, covered with dust and having innumerable faces. Our soul is like one of these diamonds, bright at the core. With every lifetime we go through, with every reincarnation we learn a lesson. With every lesson learnt one face of our diamond gets cleaned, and after many thousands of life times we become perfect, God-like. In other words, we become God-like through knowledge. When someone sees the same people everyday, they become a part of that person's life. And then they want that person to change. If someone isn't what others want him or her to be, they get angry, upset or hurt. Everyone seems to have a clear idea as to how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own. God, destiny and eternity are things not believed everyone. Some people may believe in God and look to him for help in times of distress and fear. Other non-believers may say that God is a man made concept made only to handle things that are unexplainable and the one and only thing we cant cope with: fear. Nikhil Awasty XII-A |

Vijay Singh had a bad fourth round and finished the tournament in 7th place. Tiger won another Grand Slam showing that no golf course could be ‘Tiger proofed.’ He won as he played a consistent game and had nerves of steel during the last two rounds. RAIN PLAYS SPOIL SPORT Heavy rain ensured that there would be no result in the first test match between India and the West Indies. Both teams were equally placed at close of play on the 4th day. West Indies batted first and made a mammoth total of 501. Captain Carl Hooper was the mainstay of the West Indian batsmen scoring 233; S.Chanderpaul also steadied the innings making 140. The Indians had a huge task ahead of them and started off on a bad note. Eventually it was the reliable Sachin Tendulkar and the vice captain Rahul Dravid who stabilized the innings scoring 79 and 144* respectively. India was on 395/7 when the match was declared a draw. The Indians need to pull up their socks to secure their fist overseas series win in the last 15 years. |
