S C H O O L           W A T C H

The 4th Vasant Valley Debate was held on the 7th of November. The team from our school comprising of Nikhilesh Chand and Ankit Bahri came first in the debate. Mr. Vinod Dua was the chief guest at the debate. 

The results of the 3d National Science Olympiad were announced and three of our students, Karan Kumar (class X), Parneet Sethi (class XII) and Akshay Jain (class XII) were awarded certificates. 

Twenty five students of class 12 participated in Karan Thapar's television show 'The Big Question' The other participants were from Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jamia Milia Islamia. It was telecast on DD 1 on the 9th of December at 11 p.m., and again on the 10th of December at 10 p.m. 

Tiger week was held from the 3rd to the 7th of December. An article on Tiger Week will come out in the next issue.

In relation to the Geography curriculum, students from class 11 and 12 went to the Central Market in Vasant Kunjfor a market and traffic survey. 

Twenty six students from school participated in the CBSE Zonal Athletic Meet being held at Mother's International School on the 10th, 11th and 12th of November. Results highlighted.

CBSE athletic meet results:
Junior Girls-
Meghna Mehta won first prize in the 800mt sprint and has qualified for the final round in Vishakapatnam on the 20th to 21st of December.
Sonal Marwah won second prize in the 400mt sprint and third prize in the 200mt dash.
Junior boys-
Amaan Raj Khanna came third in the 400mt dash.
Sub junior girls- 
Harshayla Singh came third in the shot-put. 

We at Vasant Valley deeply mourn the loss of a dear friend, Dhruv Lal Seth, who sadly passed away in a tragic accident in the early hours of the 19th of November. His loss will be greatly felt among us all. He was a part of the very first batch to pass out of our school and was in his second year in St. Stephen's College.

The International Assessment in Mathematics and Science conducted by The University of New South Wales was held on the 26th and 27th of November. All students of classes 5 and 8 took these examinations.
