Adventure Camps 2015 |
Class 7 - Adventure Camp to Camp Sher Villas, Ranthambore This year, we, the students of Class VII, went to Ranthambore by train for our adventure camp. We stayed in the luxurious Camp Sher Vilas. We went on two safaris of the Ranthambore National Park, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. During the safaris we heard the roar of a tiger and alarm calls of various animals. Unfortunately, the famous tiger remained elusive, but we were content with having sighted the rarely seen sloth bear. Instead we watched an interesting and informative documentary on the mighty tigress 'Machhli'. We walked up the Ranthambore Fort on a hot afternoon, accompanied by a large number of langoors (black-faced monkey). We also visited a village and an organisation called "Dastkar", which provides the local villagers employment and keeps their craft traditions alive. The three days flew by quickly, and before we knew it, we were on our way back home, cherishing the memories of yet another wonderful camp. |
