Class 6 - Tiger Camp Alwar (2 nights) and at Camp Abhaneri (1 night) near Sariska National Park, Rajasthan
25th - 28th February, 2019
The class 6 adventure camp was a lot of fun. When we first boarded our buses, the whole place was buzzing with excitement. The bus ride was quite enjoyable, though we couldn't really concentrate because of the lack of sleep, so we just talked to our friends. After eating lunch and getting assigned rooms at Camp Tiger Alwar, we settled down for a couple of hours and left for Dhadhikar Fort. There we saw the beautiful way that it was constructed and ate some snacks. After eating dinner, we gathered around a bonfire and went to sleep. Our first day here had been quite fun.
The next day woke us up with the bird watching walk, which was a lot of fun as we saw birds and picked up feathers. We had lunch and left for the jungle safari, which took a really long time to reach. We saw a few animals and birds such as sambars, spotted deer, peacocks and peahens. Our canters were going really fast and it was freezing cold. We tried to take our mind off the weather by talking to our friends and chatting, which helped quite a bit. It slowly started raining and became even colder. The insects (the ones attracted to bright colours) started sticking to our brightly coloured clothes. Two of the canters were able to spot a tiger. We finally turned around and took shelter in a hut. It was raining very heavily now and everyone was shivering. Suddenly, it stopped raining and the sun came out of clouds. Looking out, we realised that there was a rainbow: a beautiful ending to a very tiring day!
We woke up the next day, only to find that it was even colder than it was the day before! We had breakfast and packed everything up to go to Camp Abhaneri. After reaching, we went inside our tents and it was AMAZING! We ate lunch and had fun in our tents with our friends, followed by heavy rain (again!). We then visited Chand Stepwell. It was huge, and maybe that was why we weren't allowed to go down the steps. The weather surely wasn't on our side: it started raining yet again so we went back to the camp-site. We went for a camel cart ride and started the talent show. After our performances we all got chocolates for performing well and we went for dinner. The next day we woke up at 5:30 a.m. and had hot chocolate. The long journey back home was quite fun. We all enjoyed adventure camp a lot.
