Class 7 - Camp Sher Villas, Ranthambore National Park, Sawai Madhopur (Rajasthan)
25th - 28th February, 2019
It all started on 25th of March 2019 when Class 7 awoke, agog with excitement, as it was finally the beginning of our School Camp! Along with nervousness and intense happiness, we kick started our travel on-board the Kota Jan Shatabdi train - where we lost track of time chatting, playing and having tuck with friends.
The first day, all of us woke up to start with an array of interesting activities. Over the course of next three days, between the two groups, we spotted five tigers, many crocodiles, three leopards and one sloth bear - seemed like we had hit a jackpot in spotting wildlife up so close! Both groups compared their count which led to some casual banter and camaraderie among the students.
Another highlight of our trip was climbing 600 steps to the Ranthambore Fort and temple which rewarded us with extremely aching, sore legs and a breathtaking view. The interactions with other kids at Tiger City School over games were enjoyed by all. Our special evening together with the much awaited Talent Show showcased many hidden talents and some of the plays literally left us in splits. The guest of honour that evening was an "uninvited" wild boar, who eventually had to be shooed away.
When the time came for us to depart from the exotic Sher Vilas Camp, we looked back wistfully wishing that time would pause. Laden with our luggage and with innumerable memories in our hearts, we proceeded to go back to Delhi. But surely, it was one of the best camps ever- which signified four days of being without our gadgets and having the time of our lives with our classmates.
