Class 6 - Alwar and Abhaberi
Our First Adventure Camp in Senior School. It almost did not happen because of the Corona scare but then again, we were really blessed. This camp was truly one of the best camps I have ever gone for even though I felt a bit homesick. We started our journey from Vasant Valley on two different buses at 6:30 AM, all excited. I was on Bus no 1 and while on the bus, we played many games like Mafia, UNO and Pictureka and enjoyed our yummilicious tuck!! We reached Sariska a few hours later and picked up our luggage and moved to our allotted rooms to rest awhile.
Day 1 and Day 2 were at Sariska and other than being made to wash our hands and using sanitisers, we did a lot of different activities, including team building games, an obstacle course , a hike to the place where tigers roam around and we also saw tiger paw marks, shooting at and picking amlas among other fun stuff. The food, of course was really delicious. The highlight at Sariska was the Safari. We were waiting with bated breath and as we piled on to our jeeps, the excitement was building up. We spotted mynahs, peacocks, langurs, spotted deer, etc. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and told us a lot of trivia about the jungles …but sadly we were not lucky to spot any tigers. On second thoughts, may be that was safe!!!! However, some others did spot a leopard…
At Camp Abhaneri, the tents were really cool. The campsite welcomed us with a traditional Rajasthani welcome. Though the bonfire was cancelled due to the rain, the highlight was the Talent Show which a super hit. I was part of the Bomber Boys and all groups had different names and presented their plays. I just looooovvedd the dancing every night. The teachers were great fun too and were great sports as they played and danced with us. Playing cricket with Ms. Ishu Lakhanpal was simply amazing…. On our return we were welcomed by showers of non-stop rain and trying to get off the bus with rain pouring down was nothing short of an adventure too…. Adventure Camp 2020 was really special!!
